Contribute to the Nurseslab.in Blog

We are eager to include contributions from Nurse Researcher and Enthusiast who is interested to walk along with us in nursing life for the sake of – students, practicing nurses in any setting, educators, administrators, policymakers and politicians, and those who are “retired” (do we ever retire?)! We welcome blog posts that are consistent with the mission and purposes of Nurseslab.in., such as posts that:

  • Support and encourage the development of nursing knowledge,
  • Present critical discussion of ideas that are central to nurses’ knowledge,
  • Honor nurses who have been “guardians” of the discipline,
  • Memorialize the life of nursologists who have died,
  • Bring to the forefront notable works related to knowledge development in Nursing,
  • Provide critical reviews that point toward new possibilities for the future of Nursing.
  • Explore social and political contexts that influence the development of nurse’s knowledge and to advance their Career,
  • Share inspiring stories related to the development of nursing knowledge,

Content and writing style guidelines include:

  • The author’s own “voice” is clear.
  • Content is creative and thoughtful.
  • Facts and logic included in the post are plausible.
  • Writing style is informal, conversational, and even humorous.
  • Photos and illustrations are included, or can be provided.
  • If existing literature is cited a link to the source of the existing work is sufficient; if a link is not available, cite the work using APA 7th edition style and format.
  • References is a must and compulsory for our blog
  • Length ranges between approximately 1500 – 3500 words (the longer the better!).
  • A brief bio and author(s)’ photo(s) are included.

Practical implications of these Guidelines:

Here are some suggestions for putting these guidelines into action!

  • Have a “bottom line message” in mind as you start writing, and make sure that message comes through.
  • Start with a story or anecdote that is likely to compel a site visitor to keep reading – a real-life story or a “light bulb” moment that drew your attention to the message you are writing about.
  • The point of Nurseslab.in blog posts is to give readers a reason to use the resources on the site, so be sure to connect your post to at least one other resource on Nurseslab.in if needed.
  • For ideas about topics, the editorial team will guide you with it if you are in need.

Authorship Guidelines

  • Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work
  • Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content
  • Final approval of the version to be published
  • Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Members of the Nurseslab.in editorial team provide review, assistance and guidance as needed for first-time contributors.
